SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR
AUTUMN SEMESTER 2018
International students planning on attending Beijing Open University to study Chinese in the autumn semester 2018 may apply for a scholarship. The details are as follows:
★ Application requirements for Type A: 4000 Yuan per person per semester (There are 7 places)
1. The applicants must be between 18 and 60 years old (including 18 and 60). In addition, they must take 20 classes per week (including online courses).
2. The applicants must provide (in Chinese or English):
①BEIJING OPEN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS
②CERTIFICATE OF VERIFICATION FOR PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNER (issued by Beijing International Travel Healthcare Center Haidian clinic, and printed by entry-exit inspection and quarantine PRC)
③DIPLOMA AND TRANSCRIPT (high school or above)
★ Application requirements for Type B: 2000 Yuan per person per semester (There are 11 places)
1. The applicants must be between 18 and 60 years old (including 18 and 60). They may be awarded such kind of scholarship if they cannot meet the conditions for Type A. Or they have already been awarded full scholarship for the first semester, and will study at BJOU for the second semester.
2. The applicants must provide (in Chinese or English):
①BEIJING OPEN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS
② CERTIFICATE OF VERIFICATION FOR PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNER (issued by Beijing International Travel Healthcare Center Haidian clinic, and printed by entry-exit inspection and quarantine PRC)
③ DIPLOMA (high school or above)

All the applicants have the responsibility to take part in activities held by BJOU and help teachers to fulfill some tasks. |

The scholarship will be issued by the form of exemption of the tuition fee at the beginning of a new semester.
BJOU will put the school record (achievements, attendance rate, extracurricular behavior, etc.) into consideration for those students who are studying here in this semester and want to apply for the scholarship for the next semester.
Students who are awarded the scholarship but do not meet the requirements should return the scholarship before the semester ends.
★Scholarship Application Deadline
1 The applicants should hand in or post all the application materials to BJOU foreign students’ management office before August 31, 2018.
2 We will check and reply applicants in two weeks.
★Other Preferential Policy for Scholarship Students
The Scholarship students are qualified to get 200-class-hour extracurricular tutoring for free.
